Terms & Conditions

Please read our Terms and Condition carefully before ordering goods or booking a class/service on our website. All transactions are bound by these Terms and Conditions. You may want to print or save these Terms and Conditions for future reference.

Classes/Events

Please check the dates carefully prior to booking. Once an order is placed it cannot be refunded.

If for any reason you are unable to attend please contact us and we will try to find someone to take your place. Golden Rose Sewing School is not contractually obliged to find a replacement but we can try to find someone as a gesture of good will. If this is not possible feel free to send a substitute. If you book a class for several days duration please make sure you can attend all days. Once made, a booking cannot be transferred to an alternative date.

All classes must be paid for in full either prior to the event or on the day of the event. If you have paid a deposit this is non-refundable. 

Payment for the deposit can be made on the website. Payments for the remaining balance can be paid by bank transfer or by card at the school. We do not store or have access to your bank details. This is securely processed by Wix payments and Sumup.

In the unlikely event that a class is cancelled, we will attempt to give as much warning as possible. We will email you and phone you if you have provided us with a telephone number. We will refund your booking fee or transfer you to another class of the same value, space permitting. Unfortunately, we cannot accept responsibility for wasted travel cost.

Refunds for Goods

Any goods purchased from the website can be returned to Golden Rose Sewing School within 14 working days of receiving the goods. You have the right under the The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 to change your mind you may return the item(s) to us at your own cost. You will be refunded for the cost of the item only. All postage costs are non-refundable. You will be refunded upon receipt of the item to us. It’s advised you send the goods back to us using a trackable service to ensure the goods reach us. Goods must be returned in a saleable condition, with all original packaging. Face Covers – due to the nature of the product, face covers are non returnable unless the item is faulty.

If you receive an item which is faulty or damaged please contact us as soon as possible. We will refund or replace the item within 30 working days. If you would like to return goods please email sarah@goldenrosesewingschool.co.uk

Please read the instruction manual prior to using the machines. Golden Rose Sewing School cannot accept liability for any injury caused to the user or others in relation to misuse of sewing machines. Workspace and sewing machine bookings are non-refundable.

Sewing Machine Hire Terms & Conditions

The Period of Hire

  • The period of hire begins on the time and date booked via the website.

  • Hire is only available on available booking dates


Equipment

  • At no point is any equipment to be removed from the premises.

  • The hirer will check any machine or equipment that it is in good working order and in undamaged condition. Any damage must be reported immediately to Golden Rose Sewing School.


Use of Equipment

  • You may only use the Equipment for the normal purpose for which it is intended.

  • All Equipment must be used in a safe and correct manner and in accordance with any and all operation and safety instructions or similar documentation provided.

  • Certain items of Equipment may require specialist training prior to use. You will be advised if this is the case and must ensure that you receive and follow instructions/training provided during the period of hire.

  • You may not remove any labels from the Equipment or any part(s) of it.

  • You may not make any alterations or adjustments to the Equipment beyond those that are already possible within the range of adjustments specific to a given item.

  • You may only affix or connect other items to the Equipment where such affixation does not exceed the design limitations of the Equipment and is not likely to damage it in any way.

  • You shall at all times treat the Equipment with a reasonable level of care and shall ensure that it is kept clean, subject always to reasonable levels of wear and tear.

  • All equipment which uses consumables of whatever nature must only be used with official consumables (that is, those produced or recommended by the manufacturer of that particular piece of Equipment) or such other products as authorised by us.

  • All equipment which requires oil must only be used with the types specified by the manufacturer of that particular piece of equipment or such other type as authorised by the company.

  • All electrical equipment must only be used with the voltage specific to that piece of equipment.

  • You must notify us immediately after any breakdown and/or damage to the equipment.

Damage to or Loss of Equipment Hired

  • It is the hirer’s responsibility to ensure the safe keeping of equipment.

  • All damage must be notified immediately (or as soon as practicable) . The hirer should not attempt to repair the machine themselves.

  • In the case of negligent or wilful damage or loss of equipment the hirer shall be liable to pay the full cost of repair and / or replacement. This does not include accidental damage / wear and tear that occurs in the usual course of operating the machine or replacement needles.

 

Your Responsibilities

  • You must not permit any other person to use the Equipment unless and as we may agree with you before or during the Hire Period.

  • You are responsible for ensuring that you (or any other person) only use the equipment if you (or they) have no medical or physical condition that might give rise to a risk of injury to you or any other person.

  • When hiring Equipment You are acknowledging that use of it may carry with it an inherent risk of injury unless all suitable precautions are taken by You. You
    acknowledge to us that You accept that inherent risk and that our liability will be limited according to Clause 16.

  • We do not provide any form of insurance and it is therefore your responsibility to ensure that you are covered by suitable insurance for the duration of the Hire Period including any extension of it, and that insurance should include, but not be limited to, cover for: loss or theft of or damage to the Equipment where there is no Accidental Damage Waiver or to the extent that such loss, theft or damage is not within the scope of an Accidental Damage Waiver that is added to the Hire; and personal injury or death save where caused by our negligence or that of our employees, agents or sub-contractors.
     

Liability

  • Golden Rose Sewing School will take all steps to ensure that faulty equipment is replaced as soon as possible with either the same or similar equipment.

  • Please read the instruction manual prior to using the machines, which will be provided with your machine. Golden Rose Sewing Schol cannot accept liability for any injury caused to the user or others in relation to misuse of sewing machines.

  • We will not be liable for any personal injury which results from the improper use of the equipment.

  • We shall be responsible for any foreseeable loss or damage that you may suffer as a result of our breach of these Terms and Conditions or other terms of the Contract or as a result of our negligence. Loss or damage is foreseeable only if it is an obvious consequence of our breach or negligence or if it is contemplated by you and us when the Contract is formed. We will not be responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable.

  • Nothing in these Terms and Conditions seeks to exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence (including that of our employees, agents or sub-contractors) or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

  • We only hire the Equipment for your domestic or private use. You agree not to hire or use the Equipment for any commercial or business purpose, and we will have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.

  • Nothing in these Terms and Conditions or other provisions of the Contract seeks to exclude or limit our liability with respect to your rights as a consumer.


Rental Fees

  • During the Rental agreement the hirer will pay the rental fee as specified in the Rental Agreement and paid for - All equipment on hire remains the property of Golden Rose Sewing School.

Golden Rose Sewing School reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions.
