Do you have items in your wardrobe that remain unworn due to minor adjustments needed or perhaps they need some repairs?
This clothing alteration class will equip you with the essential skills to alter or repair your garments. It is an excellent way to save money and extend the longevity of your clothing. You will learn techniques such as adjusting hems to modify the length of a garment, and altering seams to achieve a better fit if that is the adjustments you need.

Class Description
Do you have items in your wardrobe that remain unworn due to minor adjustments needed or perhaps they need some repairs?
This clothing alteration class will equip you with the essential skills to alter or repair your garments. It is an excellent way to save money and extend the longevity of your clothing. You will learn techniques such as adjusting hems to modify the length of a garment, and altering seams to achieve a better fit if that is the adjustments you need. Additionally, if you like you will be taught how to replace broken zippers in skirts, trousers, or jeans. The class also offers opportunities to remake and restyle favourite garments or vintage pieces.
Is this course right for me?
This class is not suitable for beginners. You will need to have a good knowledge and confidence when using a sewing a machine or have attended the absolute beginners workshop. Ideally you will have made some simple items of clothing in the past.
Please note: this is not a private lesson and you should be able to follow basic instructions and work independently.
What do I need to bring?
Please bring two or more articles of clothing that you would like to alter along with matching thread. We will work through them together. Avoid bringing items that are too advanced for your skill level or very expensive. You may bring projects that are already pinned and ready to go.

Please check the dates carefully prior to booking. Once an order is placed it cannot be refunded.
If for any reason you are unable to attend please contact us and we will try to find someone to take your place. Golden Rose Sewing School is not contractually obliged to find a replacement but we can try to find someone as a gesture of good will. If this is not possible feel free to send a substitute. If you book a class for several days duration please make sure you can attend all days. Once made, a booking cannot be transferred to an alternative date.
All classes must be paid for in full either prior to the event or on the day of the event. If you have paid a deposit this is non-refundable.
Payment for the deposit can be made on the website. Payments for the remaining balance can be paid by bank transfer or by card at the school. We do not store or have access to your bank details. This is securely processed by Wix payments and Sumup.
In the unlikely event that a class is cancelled, we will attempt to give as much warning as possible. We will email you and phone you if you have provided us with a telephone number. We will refund your booking fee or transfer you to another class of the same value, space permitting. Unfortunately, we cannot accept responsibility for wasted travel cost.
